Week of November 18th

 



Good Afternoon Everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I am SO happy I was able

to be here in school today to have one last day before my maternity

leave begins with our amazing class & what a great day it was. 


Please see the important info below about our weeks ahead:

1) Starting tomorrow Mrs. Emily Baricevic will be taking over as my role

of K teacher until January when I return. Mrs. B will work alongside

Mrs. Nowel to keep our amazing class learning & making special memories.

Mrs. B will be all set up on Dojo starting tomorrow morning, so please

make sure to contact her & Mrs. Nowel directly with any questions,

concerns, dismissal changes, etc. Our class is in the BEST hands with

them. Even though I am not physically going to be here,

I am always available so please reach out any time, you & your child

are family to me so please reach out whenever needed-

I’ll be missing them all so much!! 


2) Snack Shop is tomorrow- please send money in homework folders

if you want your child to purchase a snack at lunchtime.


3) Book Fair Wish Lists went home today in homework folders. Please

review your child’s selections and then if you would like them to purchase

any of the books, please make sure to mark the list and send payment in

NO LATER than Thursday morning (as that is when our class will be going

to buy books together). 



4) This Friday is our next TAG day- there is no specific theme so

students may dress down if they paid the $1 TAG.


5) A reminder that Kindergarten Parent Teacher Conferences will be

taking place at the END of January. More info will be sent to you as

we get closer as well.

-Thursday 11/21- Book Fair (Purchase Day- $ will be needed) 

-Monday 11/25 & Tuesday 11/26- Half Days (noon dismissal- ASC available)

-Wednesday 11/27- Half Day (noon dismissal- NO ASC!) 

-Thursday 11/28-11/29- School Closed Thanksgiving Break! 


Here are our themes/concepts of the week:

1) Reading/Language Arts/Phonics:

  • Phonics Skills: Sounding out CVC words 

  • Sight Words- we, play, come, for, help 

  • Skills: Sequencing


2) Mathematics:

  • Tally Marks, Graphing & Data!

  • Skip Counting by 5’s and 10’s 


3) Religion:

  • Saints- Learning about One Saint per Day all month long!

  • Being Thankful for our Blessings


4) Social Studies :

  • The First Thanksgiving 

  • Pilgrims & Wampanoags

Week of November 12th




Good Afternoon Everyone!

I hope you all had a nice long weekend. While it may be a shortened week,

our class is very busy! Please read the important information below:


1) This Thursday is our Thanksgiving Show & Celebration beginning at 1:00

pm. If you signed up to donate to help us, please drop off all donations by

tomorrow afternoon to our building, as I will be setting up.

Also- regarding our show- please read these directions very carefully:


- Families attending are asked to park in the learning center parking

lot and/or church lot ONLY. You CANNOT block the spaces in

front of the learning center as these will be used for big school car line. 


-Please do not arrive any earlier than 12:50 pm. Our show will take place

in the GYM on the stage first, so please come to the front doors of the

main building to sign in, doors will not open any earlier than 12:50 pm.

Our show will begin promptly at 1:00 pm on the stage. The performance

will go from 1:00-1:15 in the gym, then we will escort our class back to

our building. 


-Families are then asked to walk to our building to where we will

continue our Friendsgiving celebration in our classroom & computer room area.


-Festivities during our celebration have been planned for students

AND families to enjoy together and will go until around 2:15-2:20 the

latest, at which time families will be permitted to sign out their students

& dismiss directly from our building.


-If you have an older STS student that you will ALSO be signing out

that morning, you MUST send a note & email to your child’s teacher &

office to make them aware so the bus list can be completed correctly

that morning. 


-Looking forward to an AMAZING Thanksgiving Show & Celebration. 🙂


2) This Friday is group class picture day & individual retakes (if desired).

All students MUST be in uniforms. 


3) Reading folders with new weekly work is going home today and are

due back by Friday please. 


4) If you have not sent back the Christmas Brunch green permission slip,

please send it in ASAP as they were due last week.
