Update!

Good Afternoon! 

I just wanted to let you all know of a few papers that went home today in homework folders. The first is our next home project, My Lucky Family Shamrock, with an included letter of directions. Students are asked to decorate the shamrock together with you as a family, they may cut and glue pictures, draw pictures, decorate using stickers, markers, crayons, etc. anything they desire to make it special and show how unique and awesome each family is. :)

The second notice is a letter about our upcoming special day on Monday! We will be celebrating Dr. Seuss' Birthday and having a very fun and exciting day. Students are asked to dress down in a specific color/theme so please see the letter for more info and I will also send a reminder Sunday as well.

Lastly, I will not be in tomorrow as I will be in West Orange for a teacher conference but Mrs. Nowel & Mrs. Joyce will be in. Please send any messages to them about dismissal changes tomorrow so they are aware.

Week of Feb. 24th

Good Afternoon!

I hope you all had a nice weekend! I can't believe February is already almost over, time is surely flying by. 

Here is some info for the week ahead:
1) This Wednesday is Ash Wednesday. We will be going to mass at 8:30 am.

2) Reading Folders went home today with our new homework (2 activities) and our Book Baggies. Please make sure to send back Book Baggies each day. Weekly homework checklist went home in Homework Folders, they are due back Friday.

Week of February 18th

Good Afternoon!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week. Here is

some information/reminders for this week and beyond.

1) This Friday our class will be having our own Kindergarten-only TAG day as a reward (and make-up day) for doing such an amazing job at the Wedding of Q & U last week. 

2) I am excited to announce that our Summer Camp Program is underway! Registration forms went home today and more information can also be found on the online STS Friday Folder in the next few days. Please note that siblings (ages 3 and up) are also invited to join us for summer camp as well. Mr. T & I are looking forward to another awesome summer here at STS. Please reach out to me if you have any questions.

3) Ash Wednesday is next Wednesday and we will be attending mass at 8:30 am. We have been discussing how this signifies the beginning of Lent and how we will create our own Lenten Promises to do for Jesus during this time. 

4) We will be purchasing our tickets for our field trip by this Friday. If you are interested in being a chaperone but have not turned the form in yet, please reach out to me and send the form in by Friday morning.

Week of Feb. 10th

Good Afternoon!

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. We are going to have a very busy but wonderful week ahead of us. 

Here is some important info & reminders: 

1) Our 100th Day of Kindergarten is coming up this Wednesday. All  mystery 100th day projects are due Wednesday morning. 

2) Our Secret Valentine’s Projects went home last week with your child’s assigned friend that they are to create a valentine for. Please send in these secret valentines no later than this Thursday, Feb. 13th. Please see the attached detailed letter with more information. 

3) The Wedding of Q & U is this Friday at 1:15 pm. Students are asked to come to school on Friday dressed up in “Sunday Best” and we hope everyone is able to join us for this magical afternoon! Students may also bring in their Valentine’s this day to share with their friends during our reception/party. : )

4) Our Spring Field Trip has been booked for the Land of Make Believe! We will be going on Wednesday, May 13th (rain date Wednesday, May 20th). Permission slips are due next Friday. We are in need of as many chaperones as possible, so if you are available please be sure to send back the chaperone form & $25 fee ASAP. Pre-K families- I will be reaching out to you separately regarding this trip as well. 

5) Reading folders are going home with this week’s homework and checklist. We are working on our “special popcorn words” this week to tie into our fun events. Book baggies will not be sent home this week, they will resume next week.

Happy February! Week of 02/03

Good Afternoon and Happy February!

We have a lot of exciting events ahead in this short month! Here are some reminders for the week ahead:

1) A formal invitation went home today for our next BIG Kdg event- the Wedding of Q & U!! All families are invited and encouraged to join us as we celebrate the special union of "Q" and "U" and also celebrate Valentine's Day together. Students will come to school dressed up  "fancy" as if we were attending a "real" wedding. The Wedding will begin at 1:15 pm in the gym and we hope you can all join us. A detailed letter regarding our celebration will be sent home by Friday.

2) We are only 6 school days away from the 100th Day of School! A reminder that all 100th Day Mystery Projects are due next Wednesday  Feb. 12th. 

3) I am very proud of how well students are doing in our guided reading groups! Our new Feb. Reading work went home yesterday as well as our book baggies. Please ensure your child returns their book baggie each day. :) 

4) February Pizza money is due by Friday. 

5) Family BINGO night is this Friday, registration went home last week. If you are interested, please return the form ASAP. 

6) There is no school on Monday Feb. 17th for President's Day.
