Week of 9/15

 Week of 9/15/25

Good Afternoon Amazing K Families,

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We are off to a truly fantastic

start to our week. Here is some important information for you about our

week ahead:

1) Today we kicked off our reading program and in your child’s homework

folder you will see a printed copy of our “Weekly Newsletter” (also attached to here digitally) that will let you know all the concepts we are covering

this week. You will also see our weekly mini reader that correlates to our

sight words (we call them popcorn words because they POP out to us)

and a literacy  pamphlet.

You will also see a math worksheet from our book that correlates to

our in-class lessons. Math worksheets will typically come home every

other day, usually on a Monday & Wednesday basis, and students can

return them by Friday.

Once we get a bit further into our year, typically around the first week of

October, we will send out our Reading Folders where our weekly newsletter

will become our “weekly checklist” with our decodable readers, reading logs,

etc. Rest assured though that this will be explained when the time comes. 🙂

2) A reminder that this Friday is our first school wide TAG day for the

year. The theme is to wear any yellow or gold in support of raising money

for childhood cancer awareness. Please send in your $1 donation labeled in

your child’s homework folder on Friday morning and your child may dress

down for the day.

3) We do believe that the school snack shop will be open tomorrow during

lunch time. If you send $ last week, Mrs. Nowel has it safely secured here

so you are already set. If you did not send $ last week and would like your

child to buy a snack tomorrow, please send in $ labeled in their homework

folder tomorrow.

4) A reminder to please make sure to LABEL ALL of your child’s clothing,

especially school sweaters and sweatshirts with your child’s name. We

know many come from the uniform exchange so it has other families

names in them and it makes it very difficult for us to sort through and

find the new owners when they do not have any current labels.

Thank you in advance for your support.

5) A reminder that our Fall Field Trip permission slip (and optional

chaperone form & payment) is due back no later than this Friday.

Here are our themes/concepts coming up:

1) Reading/Language Arts/Phonics:

  • Letters & their Sounds of the Week (bootcamp): F-J

  • Popcorn Words: I, am, the, little

2) Mathematics:

  • Sorting

  • Shapes

  • Ordinal Numbers

3) Religion:

  • Learning our Prayers & Talking to God

  • Story of Creation- God Gave Us the World

4) Social Studies:

-School Rules & Procedures

-Being a Bucket Filler

-Citizenship Unit- We Are a Family & We Try Our Best!

5) Science:

  • Five Senses

  • Apple Science Unit

Thank you for your time, please let me know if you have any questions.

I hope you all have a wonderful week.

God Bless!

Love & Prayers,

Mrs. Tironi
