Good Afternoon,
I hope everyone had
a wonderful weekend. We have a great month ahead of us, with lots of exciting
events going on. Here are some important reminders & information for you:
1) Our ABC Bootcamp
Fashion Show will be on Thursday, we will be sharing the fashion show on Class
Dojo. The letter vests that went home last week are due back to school tomorrow.
Please be sure your child is decorating their vest, they may do both the front and
the back. This is a great family involvement project to work on enforcing all
the sounds we have learned the past 26 days.
2) Our Disguise a
Turkey Projects will be going home today with a detailed letter for
explanation. The point of this project is for your child to create a “disguise”
or “costume” for the turkey so he/she will not look like a turkey on
Thanksgiving. You can look up many ideas online for inspiration, I showed the
class the past Kindergarten’s turkeys as well to help get them started. You can
use any types of materials you may have at home. Please send them back to
school by next Monday November 12th. We will be displaying their
wonderful creations! : )
3) Reading Folders
will also be going home today with our November READO boards and reading logs.
Students who brought in their work from October received their free frosty
coupon, as well as a classroom prize coupon for completing all assignments.
Parents- please be sure to initial on the READO boards so we can be sure they
children have completed those activities. Many of the activities take less than
5 minutes to accomplish and can be done while driving or during a dinner time
discussion with your child. While it is my philosophy not to overwhelm our
Kinders with an abundance of homework, the READO boards and other family
projects that we send home are a very important part of year together and do
have many benefits for your child.
4) There is no
school this Friday, November 9th.
5) Next Friday
November 16th will be our Thanksgiving Show & Feast Celebration
beginning at 1:15 pm. All families (including siblings) are welcome (and highly
encouraged) to attend. A formal invitation will be going home this week.
6) There are half
days on Monday November 19th and Tuesday November 20th
with after care available, and a half day on Wednesday November 23rd
with no after care. Kindergarten conferences will be taking place in January,
as we do not receive report cards until the end of second quarter. We are
closed on Thursday November 24th and Friday November 25th
for Thanksgiving.
