Hello Everyone!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We are having an awesome start to
a new and exciting month of school. Now that we are in October, we have
A LOT of new information to share and many exciting events coming up as
well. :) I am not trying to bombard you but want to clarify as much as
possible, so I apologize this is a lengthy update.
1) A letter is going home in Homework Folders today detailing our “Reading
Folders” and the work that is inside of them. Please keep these Reading
Folders at home and work on them throughout the week, and return at the
end of each week.
Since there is no school this Friday, students do not have to return their
folders until next Tuesday, October 10th.
Our weekly homework checklist with important info can be found there as
well. You may pick and choose which practice activities you’d like to do and
it is not required that they ALL be done every single day, we just like
to give the children a chance to choose what they’d like to do.
Raz Kid login information is taped to the front of homework folders as
well. This can be used for differentiated reading practice for your child.
2) Today we started learning about our sight words, which we call
“Popcorn Words” in Kindergarten because they POP out whenever we
see them. Our first five words can be found in Reading Folders so
they can practice at home as well.
3) Tomorrow is snack shop, you may send in $ if you would like your
child to buy a treat. A reminder since school is CLOSED on Friday,
please do NOT send any pizza $ this week.
4) Our St. Therese Walk-a-Thon will now be held on Wednesday morning
beginning at 8:45 am. Any money raised, please send it to school no later
than tomorrow. We will also have a visit from the
Roxbury Fire Department that morning as well.
5) A reminder that school is closed this Friday, October 6th
and Monday, October 9th.
6) Our Farm Field Trip is this Thursday, a letter went home in
homework folders today as well. We are SO excited!
7) The Box of Joy service projects are being sent home today
with information about this wonderful fundraiser for those in need.
This is optional, so if you are not interested or able to participate,
please send the box of joy BACK to school.
