Happy February! I can’t believe we are here already but we are very excited for this beautiful month ahead! Please read below for important info:
1) We are very excited to announce that we have a new student who has joined our Kindergarten family today! Please join us in welcoming Liham and his family to STS! We have also sent a newly updated class list for Valentine's Day in homework folders today.
2) Reading folders are coming home today with new monthly and weekly materials. Please keep reading folders home until Friday, when the weekly work is due. Any completed monthly January work can be sent in any day this week and students will receive a prize.
3) An opt out form/letter came home last Friday from the main office regarding our upcoming “Virtus Safe Touch Lesson”. I just want to clarify what this lesson is for our age group, so you are aware when making the choice to opt out or not. For us this lesson is done with grades K-2 together in one classroom and is one lesson about stranger danger, understanding who are our trusted adults, and who we can go to if anyone ever does or says anything to us that ever makes us feel uncomfortable, sad, or “icky” (as we explain to this age group). It is about reminding students that there are many adults who are here to protect them and they can come to any of us when they need help at any time for any reason. We completely understand that this may be a lesson you would rather your child hear at home, which is why there is an opt-out option. If you would like to opt-out your child, please return that form no later than Friday, Feb. 13th.

5) Our 100th Day Projects are asked to be sent to school next Thursday, Feb. 12th.
