3) New this week regarding Homework- I am super excited to

announce that the diocese has set up our class to use the online

practice program called IXL. If you have an older student here at

STS, you may be familiar. IXL is a great place to practice math &

language arts skills, and it allows your child to progress at their own

pace and I am given a report each & every time your child uses it and

how they are doing. The login information has been taped to the front

of your child’s homework folder as well.  Please let me know if you have

any questions. 🙂

4) This Friday we will be having our next Science fun day- Hibernation

Day! A small flyer is coming home today to explain what your child will

need to bring with them on Friday morning. It is also a TAG day- free

choice- so your child may dress down if you send in your $1 donation

(if you already paid for the year you are all set).

Week of December 18th

Good Afternoon Everyone,

I hope you all had a nice weekend. I am so VERY happy to be back

with our class, I missed them SO much.

I cannot believe we are already so close to Christmas Break, it

truly went way too fast and I am so sad I missed time with them. 🙁

Here is some info about our short (yet special) week ahead:

1) This week due to the shortened schedule, there will not be any

new weekly homework packets. Students can instead work on their

Monthly READO boards, practice looking for their sight words in

Christmas stories, or practice measuring Christmas items around your

house. Have fun during this week of JOY! 🙂

2) SAVE THE DATE- Our Kindergarten Parent Teacher Conferences

will be taking place on Thursday, January 25th & Friday, January 26th.

Here is our Sign Up Genius to select the time & date you would like to

meet. Our conferences will be taking place in the office meeting room

located at the church.

If none of the dates/times work for you, please reach out to me and I

will gladly work out something that works better for you.

3) Our Christmas Gift Exchange will be taking place this Thursday

during our class party. Please see the letter sent home last week (or

sent digitally here as well) and send in gifts labeled FROM with your

child’s name, no later than Wednesday. Please do not hesitate to reach

out to me with any questions or concerns.

4) This Thursday will be our last day before Christmas vacation. It is

a Christmas theme TAG day, so students can dress in their fun, festive

clothing. We will be attending the school breakfast and having our

class party. It is a half day with a noon dismissal and NO aftercare.

School is closed beginning on Friday, 12/23 and reopens on Wednesday,

01/03.

5) There is Snack Shop open tomorrow during lunch. Please send snack

shop $ in lunchboxes or homework folders if you’d like your child to

purchase a treat. The 5th Grade Quarters for Kenya guessing game is

ongoing until Wednesday. Students can bring in quarters to guess the

# of candies in a jar for a chance to win. The $ raised goes towards

our sister school St. Cecilia’s in Kenya.

Week of December 11th

Good Afternoon Everyone,

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I was VERY happy to be

back with our class today, I missed them SO much. Thank you all

again for everything.

We have such an incredible & fun two weeks ahead of us, please

read & review below carefully:

1) We finally have our rescheduled magical day- This Wednesday

12/13 we will be having one of our most MAGICAL & amazing days in K-

our TOP SECRET Polar Express Day. This is a COMPLETE surprise to

our class- they think it is only a pajama day for our class- please do not

tell them.

In order to make this event even more special, we do need your help.

I am looking for some help to transform our classroom tomorrow

afternoon from around 3:00-4:30. I am still supposed to be on light

duty and hanging decor, moving furniture, etc. will be slightly

challenging on my own, so any help is GREATLY appreciated.

Unfortunately because it is a surprise event, students cannot join

along with any parent helpers however, children are more than

welcome to stay in aftercare free of charge if needed.

If you are able to come help us, please let me know.

2) Reading folders are going home today with our new monthly &

weekly homework. Weekly work is due back on Friday, monthly

is not due until January. .

3)  There is snack shop tomorrow at lunch. Pizza money is due no

later than Thursday morning.

4) The Christmas Concert for K-3rd Grade is tomorrow, Tuesday

12/12 at 6:00 pm. Aftercare is open only until 4:30 pm. Students in

grades K-3 should arrive at school by 5:45 pm dressed in their festive

“Sunday Best” and will be sitting with their families in the gym. They

will be called up to perform by grade level, with Kindergarten going first. 🙂

5) There is NO art club tomorrow, it has been rescheduled to next

week.

Here are our themes/concepts for the week:

1) Reading/Language Arts/Phonics:
