Week of 9/28

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend despite the rainy weather. We have a very busy week ahead and there is a lot of papers coming home in folders today. 

Please read below for important info:

1) Tomorrow the snack shop will be open during lunch. If you’d like your child to purchase a snack, please send $ labeled in their homework folder tomorrow. Please do not send more than $1, as snacks only cost 50 cents-$1 max. 🙂

2)  October Lunch Helper Sign Up Link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0549AFA929AAFB6-66212105-october  Please remember you must have completed the VIRTUS clearance in order to be a lunch helper. If you are interested, please try to sign up ASAP for any dates you can help as the main office & security officers would like a printed list of K helpers by the beginning of each month. 

3) Field Trip Reminder- This Wednesday is our annual K Trip to Tranquility Farms! Please see the printed reminder sent home in folders for more details. REMINDER- There is also NO Bootcamp on Wednesday- we resume Thursday with letter M. 🙂

4) The Scholastic Book Fair will be coming to STS next week. A flyer is coming home today in folders. We will be going for a preview day first and then a wishlist will come home for you to review after. We will have a separate day for purchasing books. This will be explained more next week as well. 

5) We are preparing for a jam-packed, super fun October ahead for K with our ABC Bootcamp Fashion Show, Pumpkin Investigation Day, and of course Halloween! We are kindly asking if any families would like to help donate some Halloween goody bag favors, please send them in to school no later than Friday, October 23rd. We have 24 students in our class. 

6) Speaking of Halloween, our amazing K Room Moms are planning some of our Halloween party fun and have an awesome snack idea that they would like to do with our class. Please see the printed permission slip in your child’s folder & return by the end of this week.

7) This Thursday we will beginning the month of the Holy Rosary by praying a decade each morning. We will also have our annual STS Walk-a-thon that morning. Students will still wear gym uniforms as normal. 

8) This Friday we will be attending First Friday Mass at 8:30 am.

Week of 9/14

 Hello Everyone!

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We are off to a truly tremendous start to our first full week of school. 

Please read the following info below regarding our week ahead:

1. In addition to our ABC Bootcamp Program starting today, we also started our weekly homework packets! You will find it in your child’s homework folder. It is a weekly practice, and meant to only be practiced a few minutes each day, so please do not return this until Friday morning. If you need longer, you may return it by next Monday instead. 

The math worksheets from our math books also include a QR code for a video students can watch at home to review the concepts we are practicing in school. 

2. A reminder that field trip permission slips are due no later than Friday. If you are interested in chaperoning, the chaperone form AND payment must be returned by Friday as well. 

3. Our 2026-2027 Class Directory is finally done, I apologize for the delay! Please click the link and confirm that your info is correct. If there is any changes needed, please send me a dojo! 🙂

5. This Friday is a special TAG Day for Childhood cancer, a flyer is coming home today with info as well. 

6. This Friday night is the Back to School Bash from 6-8 pm. More info can be found online or on Parent Square. 

7. We are so excited to announce that our official Kindergarten Room Moms for this year will be Mrs. Nicole Farina, Mrs. Elizabeth Sclafani, and Mrs. Brittany Hallock! We also have an amazing number of 11 additional families that have graciously volunteered to assist with events. If you are one of them, please be on the lookout for an email coming this afternoon about our upcoming special event days- our first one will be next Thursday, Sept. 24th with Johnny Appleseed Day! Thank you all!

Week of 9/8/26

 

Hello amazing K families! I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend. I am so excited to kick off a longer week with this incredible class. 

Here is our first weekly update, please read all the important info & reminders below 🙂

1) Our Farm Field Trip is officially confirmed for Wednesday, September 30th. A very important packet is coming home today in homework folders with all the information for you. Please read the letter and return the permission slip (and chaperone form if interested) no later than next Friday, Sept. 18th. 

2) Tomorrow & Thursday are gym days- please make sure your child wears their gym uniforms & sneakers those days each week. 

3) The GREEN paper folders that were given out last week during our orientation are for you to keep at home- the only folder that should be coming back & forth each day from home to school is our homework folder. (Next month our reading folders will go home as well). I have labeled them as well so you will see “return to school/important info” on the right side and then “keep at home” on the left side. 

4) This Thursday night is Back to School Night for the big school grades 1-8. Since Pre-K & K already had our orientation and information sessions last week, our classes will NOT be attending B2SN. However you are more than welcome to still attend the opening presentation in the gym with our new principal Mrs. Reback and the HSA beginning at 7:00 pm. 

5) This Friday is Picture Day. Students must be in uniform and they will all be photographed. These pictures will be used for the school yearbook as well. If you’d like to order pictures, please fill out the form sent home last week or online sent thru parent square as well. All students will be photographed regardless of purchasing as these are the photos used in the yearbook.

6) Next Monday, September 14th we will be kicking off our ABC Bootcamp Program! Tomorrow I will be sending home the calendar with the dates & info for your reference as well. 

7) Please make sure all articles of clothing are labeled (sweatshirts, jackets, etc.) especially as we enter the layering weather when it is cooler mornings and warmer afternoons- all uniforms are the same so it can get very confusing at pack up time 😆

8)  One last reminder, I know we are all still transitioning to the beginning of the year and being in a new school year and adjusting to the schedule but please try to ensure your child eats something for breakfast each day. We do try to adjust our schedule to have our snack a bit earlier than normal in the beginning of the year but with our specials schedule as well it can be tricky to fit it in too early. Typically we have snack around 9:30/9:45ish and lunch is not until 11:55 am, so breakfast and hearty snacks are crucial for these incredible, smart, growing children! Thank you for your support!
