Good Afternoon & Happy First Day of Fall!
We are already off to a tremendous start to week 3 of Kindergarten and ABC Bootcamp has been going so great so far! :)
Here is some information about the week ahead:
Picture Day order forms went home today in your child’s homework folder. Picture Day will be on September 30th. If you are interested in purchasing your child’s pictures, please follow the instructions on the form.
This Friday will be our first TAG Day! The theme is to wear yellow/gold for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and in honor of our friend Melanie Walsh. Your child may come to school dressed down and wearing the color yellow/gold for $1 donation. Please send the $ in a labeled envelope or baggie in your child’s homework folder on Friday morning.
A reminder that Pizza Fridays are ongoing all throughout the year. We unfortunately do not have the capability to accept pre-payments for future weeks and we also do not have enough $ to break change, so if you will be ordering pizza on Friday please send the exact amount ($3) in a labeled envelope that morning as well.
This Friday we will also be celebrating Johnny Appleseed Day with our first “Fun Day Friday” afternoon. We will be doing lots of fun apple themed activities both inside and outside! :)
Here are the themes/concepts we are focusing on this week:
1) Reading/Language Arts/Phonics:
- Letters & Sounds (Bootcamp)- A-E
-Drawing & Labeling
-Reading Comprehension Skill- Characters
2) Mathematics:
-Number Sense 0-20
- Identifying, writing, and counting numbers 0-20
3) Religion:
-God Gives Us Light
-We are Peacemakers like Jesus
-Daily Prayers
4)Social Studies:
- Citizenship Unit
5) Science:
- Apple Week! This week we will study life cycles of apples, discuss Johnny Appleseed, and have our first “STEM Fun Day Friday” revolving all around apple science activities!
