Good Afternoon Wonderful K Families,
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I cannot believe that it is already March,
time is flying by! I am happy for Spring to begin but sad that time is going so
quickly with our amazing children.
March is SO full of many exciting events and activities for our class that we
cannot wait to do together. This week we are celebrating Read Across America
and also Dr. Seuss stories with a special themed book each day. Please refer to
the flyer sent home last week and yesterday’s dojo message with each special
day’s activities.
Here are some additional reminders & information for the week/month ahead:
1) Our “Lucky Family Shamrocks” projects are due back to school by this Friday,
March 5th.
2) This week we are beginning our very first spelling unit! :) A detailed letter is
going home in homework folders today and we taped the 5 spelling words onto the
front of folders for practice as well. There is also a spelling practice sheet that
is two sided and due back by Thursday. We will take our test on Friday morning
and it will be sent home that day to be signed & returned.
3) We are already looking ahead to our Easter Egg Hunt, which as of now we have
planned for Wednesday, March 31st. We are kindly requesting if all families could
help us by please donating one new package of Easter egg filler toys
(non-food items please). If you could please send them into school in a bag
labeled “egg fillers” no later than Friday, March 19th so I can pass them along
to the three moms who will graciously be helping us fill them.
Thank you to Mrs. Mulvhill, Mrs. Gordon, and Mrs. Parks for offering to help us
fill them! :)
4) Reading folders will be going home today with our new March monthly
practice, along with a Raz Kid reading log to be used this week. Students are
asked to please read on raz kids at least 3 times a week from now until next
Monday, March 8th. Coupons and certificates for February work will be going
home this week as well.
5) We will be having a classroom celebration of Saint Patrick’s Day on March 17th.
It is also a TAG day and students are asked to wear St. Patricks/ Green attire.
