Week of November 29th

 




Good Afternoon,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your families. I am so

excited to begin this next amazing chapter of our Kindergarten experience

through Advent & December with your children. Please read ahead for all

important information for this week & weeks ahead:


Tomorrow is our next TAG day. We are raising money for our Sister School,

Saint Cecilia’s in Kenya, to help them have enough money to celebrate

with an awesome Christmas party. Your child may dress down tomorrow

with no uniform, we kindly ask that you send at least a $1 donation

in their homework folder labeled for TAG day. 


Next Tuesday, 12/07, we will be having the Santa Shop in the

big school run by Mrs. Higgins! Order forms went home last week,

if you are interested in having your child shop that day, please

send in all forms & payment ASAP. There is a link on the website’s

Friday Folder if you need an additional order form. 


A flyer regarding our Kindergarten Christmas Gift Exchange went

home today in homework folders. Please send in the wrapped gift

labeled “from” and your child’s name no later than

Friday, December 17th. 


Our next TOP SECRET but SUPER special Kindergarten day is coming

up next Friday, December 10th. Volunteer families will receive an

email tonight to sign up for slots to assist us in running this event.

If you would like to also help out with this, please let me know.

I will also be sending a digital permission slip by the beginning of

next week for children to enjoy the yummy treats.


Pizza Lunch Fridays for December is due by this Wednesday

if you are interested in ordering for the 3 Fridays

we have school. Please send in a labeled envelope in your

child’s homework folder. 


Breakfast with Santa is taking place on Saturday, December 11th

and registration forms are asked to be returned by December 7th.

We will be attending First Friday Mass this week at 8:30 am.

1) Reading/Language Arts/Phonics:

  • Phonic Skill: Applying letter sounds to form 3 letter words independently (CVC)

  • Sight Words: find, one, little, yellow, it 

  • Reading Skill: problem & solution 

  • Writer’s Workshop- Writing a simple sentence 


2) Mathematics:

  • Place Value (tens & ones)

  • Skip Counting- 5’s and 10’s  

 

3) Religion:

  • Advent- Week One- Week of Hope


4) Social Studies:

  • Holidays Around the World

Week of November 15th




Good Afternoon & Happy Monday! 

I hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend. We have been very busy preparing

for our upcoming Thanksgiving Play & celebration! An invite went home today in

Homework folders with some more information, but if you are available this

Thursday at 1:00 pm, we would love to have you join us virtually to watch our

performance and songs. Here is the link & info for the show, I will also send a

reminder with it on Thursday morning and will send the presentation via email

after so anyone who cannot attend will also see it there. 


Here is some other important info for this week:


Please fill out this Google Form found below to sign the permission slip for your

child to participate in the edible treats during our Thanksgiving “Mini-Feast”

and also to RSVP if you will be attending our virtual performance.

A reminder that next week on Monday & Tuesday we will have a half day with

noon dismissal, after care is available those days. On Wednesday, we have a noon

dismissal but NO after care and are closed Thursday & Friday for Thanksgiving.

We do not have conferences for our class this month, they will be coming up in

January with our report cards. 


Reading folders went home this week with our new materials.

They are due back Friday, please. 


Picture Day retakes will be Friday for any absent students or

students who wish to do a retake. Uniforms must be worn, please.


Now that the weather is changing and can be super cold, please ensure

your child has layers that are labeled with their names, along with

hats/gloves.  We always go outside for at least a little while to get

fresh air as long as it is above 32 and not raining/snowing. :)

Week of November 1st

 




Good Afternoon! 

I hope everyone had a wonderful and exciting Halloween weekend. I apologize for

my post being one day late, I was actually out yesterday tending to a family

emergency. I am so glad to be back today for our amazing Election Day fun!



Here is some important info for the week ahead: 

1) Now that it is November please note that students should be wearing their

WINTER uniforms. Winter Uniform for boys= Charcoal gray flannel trousers &

belt with maroon turtleneck or maroon banded polo shirt. Winter uniform for

girls- maroon plaid jumper with pink peter-pan collared blouse, maroon cardigan

or V-Neck sweater OR gray twill pants with long sleeved maroon banded polo

shirt or maroon turtleneck. Winter gym uniform for all is maroon or gray

sweatshirt and sweatpants must be worn with the uniform.

Please, please, please LABEL all sweatshirts/jackets. 


2) November pizza money is due this week. Please see Friday Folder

for order form if you are interested in ordering for this month. 


3) Our Disguise a Turkey projects are due next Monday, November 8th.

You may send it home whenever your child has finished, we cannot wait

to see all their amazing creations. 


4) Reading Folders went home yesterday with our new weekly AND

monthly material. I will be going through the October materials and

sending those home with their prizes and certificates by Friday. 


5) We will be attending First Friday Mass this Friday at 8:30 am. 


6) SAVE THE DATE- Kindergarten will be performing our

“First Thanksgiving” play virtually for our families on Thursday, November 18th

at 1:00 pm. More info to come. 


7) A reminder there is no school NEXT Friday 11/12 in observance of

Veteran’s Day.
