Week of September 18th

Hi Everyone!

The class has been doing such a great job this month, we are very proud of them all and it is evident that we are going to have such an amazing year together!

I apologize for my delay in sending my weekly update/blog post, it’s been a

wonderful but busy start to our year so far. Typically my goal is to send out

our blog/weekly update every Monday that will give you an idea of what we

are working on, as well as inform you of any important info for the week ahead. 🙂

Important Info:

  1. This week we will be beginning our Apple Science unit, leading to our big celebration of Johnny Appleseed Day next Tuesday, Sept 26th. We will be doing some fun apple themed science centers, including an apple taste test. Since students will be eating the apples, I do need to have a permission slip from each family before your child can eat them. Please use the following link to complete the permission slip (no later than next Monday please!) https://forms.gle/uVZJZ2P2cVVSDj566

  2. Tomorrow our 8th graders will be running the School Snack Shop at lunch time. If you would like your child to purchase a snack/juice, please send in $ in a labeled envelope or baggie in their homework folder tomorrow morning.

  3. Tomorrow afternoon (after school) is the Warrior Challenge for Childhood Cancer Awareness. If your child is signed up and participating, they may wear their gym uniform tomorrow to school.

  4. A reminder that our Farm Field Trip is coming up on Thursday, October 5th. If you haven’t already sent in the required permission slip and/or chaperone forms, please send it in no later than this Friday.

  5. Today we sent home Scholastic Book Order magazine if you are interested in book orders for the month of September. This is completely optional of course. However, if you would like to order, please place them online only. You will see our online code on the cover. Books will be sent home in your child’s backpack after they have been delivered.

  6. ABC Bootcamp is off to an AMAZING start! Please continue to have your child send in one show & tell every day for the letter of the day. As we get closer into October, I will send home directions for our Fashion Show! A BIG thank you to Mrs. Farrell, Bishop’s mom, for donating a set of brand new paper bags for us to use for our vests. 🙂

  7. A reminder that pizza money is due by Thursday morning. Mrs. Nowel will continue to reuse your labeled envelopes/baggies each week as you send them in, back & forth to you.

  8. We will be having our first school wide TAG day next Friday, September 29th. The theme will be to wear Gold for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

  9. The prayer books we have sent home today are for your child to keep at home to practice the prayers that we say here at school. We will begin praying one decade of the rosary every morning during the month of October, so if you could practice the Hail Mary & Our Father while at home, that would be greatly appreciated.
