Week of November 30th

Good Afternoon & Happy 1st Week of Advent! I hope you all enjoyed the long Thanksgiving weekend and had a wonderful time with your families. I missed the students very much and am so excited to go through an amazing Advent journey together during the next month together.

This month brings many surprises and special events for us in Kindergarten!

1) We began our Advent Countdown where one special surprise student each day will select a gift bag with our story of the day. Also today our awesome class scout elf, Snowflake, has arrived from the North Pole! He is here to watch us all being the wonderful bucket fillers and peacemakers we are and to learn all about Jesus with us.

2) Today we sent home a flyer for our upcoming Kindergarten Christmas Gift Exchange. Please read the letter and let me know if you have questions. We kindly ask you to send the gifts to school by December 18th, if possible.

3) Mrs. Mulvihill has so nicely reached out to me last week that she would like to put together a Christmas Goody Bag for each student. We kindly request that if each family could please send in a donation of Christmas themed favors, enough for 26 students, we would greatly appreciate it so much. Please send them in your child’s backpack labeled Favors For Mrs. Mulvihill we will send them along. If you could please bring them in by Friday, December 11th. Thank you in advance for your support!

4) Reading Folders are going home today with December materials for the month, along with our weekly practice and our 5 new sight words. I will be sending home all November work with their prizes and certificates by the middle of the week.

Unfortunately, we are not permitted to have parent volunteers in-person that day, however as we get closer I may reach out in regards to ways we might need a little help to prepare. It is going to be an amazing day, and I cannot wait to surprise them.

Week of November 2nd

Good Afternoon everyone & Happy November!

I apologize that my weekly update message is a day late, it has been very

busy this week with a faculty meeting yesterday and all our Election Day fun

today. Our class truly had an amazing Election Day today and I am so proud of how well they are all doing, I am really so blessed to be their teacher.

Since we are already in the start of a new month, I have some upcoming information for you all.

1) Yesterday our Reading Folders went home with our new November

READO Boards, Reading Logs, and Fluency practice. Our Weekly Homework

Checklist & new popcorn word lists were sent home as well. Please return

reading folders on Friday with the weekly practice page (2-sided).

2) Yesterday we also sent home our Disguise a Turkey projects! We read

the story “Turkey Trouble” and spoke about how we can all help save Turkey

on Thanksgiving by giving him a costume/disguise so the Farmer can’t find

him. Please help your child decorate their turkey however they’d like so he

doesn’t look like a turkey and please return it to school by next Monday,

11/09. I cannot wait to see them!

3) Our big ABC Bootcamp Fashion Show will be this Friday afternoon. I am

still working on finalizing details of timing but if we are unable to live

stream it for you, I will still be taking videos to send with you all so you can

see our amazing designers in action. Please return their vests to school on

Thursday, or no later than Friday morning if you need an extra day.

4) Just a reminder that now that we are in November, we have started the

“winter uniforms”. Please try to label your child’s sweaters, jackets, and

sweatshirts as it gets very difficult to sort at times when they are not

labeled. Also, please try to layer your child in the morning since the weather

is always changing and we do go outside as long as it is above 32 degrees.

5) Please check the Friday Folder on our STS website for more information

for upcoming events.

6) A reminder that there is no school next Friday, November 13th, in

remembrance of Veteran’s Day.
