Week of May 28th

Good Afternoon!

I hope everyone had a fantastic long weekend. I cannot believe we only have 10 more school days of Kindergarten left! Time is flying by : (

Tomorrow is our field trip to Waterloo Village, all students MUST bring a brown-bagged lunch labeled with their names, please do not forget to pack snacks & a water bottle as well. Students are to wear their gym uniforms (sneakers, shorts & sweatshirt). We are asking chaperones to not arrive earlier than 8:45 am please, as the buses will not be picking us up until 9:00 am.

Field Day t-shirts MUST be in by Thursday. If you ordered an STS field day shirt, we have them here in the classroom. However each child needs to have a LABELED gallon ziplock bag and 6 rubber bands. Please send this in by Thursday, as that is when we are tie dying during gym class.

Due to the short and busy week, there are no new spelling words or popcorn words this week. We will finish up our spelling and reading curriculum next week.

Thank you for your time, have a wonderful day!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Tironi

Week of May 20th

Good Afternoon & Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. We are off to a tremendous start to our week and have so many exciting events/activities ahead as we are winding down our remaining days in Kindergarten.
Here is some information for the week ahead:

1) Kindergarten will be visiting the book fair on Tuesday & Wednesday this week. On our first day students will make a “wish list” of books/items they wish to purchase and this list will be sent home to you in homework folders. Please look them over and send in any money for the items you would like them to buy on Wednesday morning.

2) This Friday we will be attending the May Crowning at 10:30 am at church, it is a half day of school with noon dismissal and NO after care services. School is closed on Monday May 27th for Memorial Day.

3) Graduation invitations went home last week in folders for our Graduation on Monday June 10th at 10:00 am. Please RSVP to me via Dojo or email by this Friday with an approximate number of how many family members will be attending so we can prepare enough refreshments and seating for everyone. All family members, including siblings, are invited and encouraged to attend.

4) We only have two more spelling tests left in Kindergarten! Our new spelling words (the “ing” word family) are going home today, please send in homework by Thursday morning. Test will be Friday morning.

5) Our Field Trip to Waterloo Village is next Wednesday May 29th. A field trip reminder went home today with all the information.

Week of May 6th

Good Afternoon & Happy Wednesday,
I hope everyone is having a great week so far. We have been VERY busy
this week with final countdown activities, music concert practice, and all
our year-end concepts. The students have been hard at work! Thank you so
much for all the teacher appreciation cards, stars, letters, and surprises. I
am so blessed to be your child’s teacher. :)

Here is some important info for the rest of this week:

1) This Friday is our next TAG day and this time we are doing something
special and different. Each class has come up with our own themes and we
are competing to see which can be the most creative and has the most
participation. Our Kindergarten theme is based upon the book “The Day the
Crayons Quit” and each of us will be dressing up as a crayon! Each student
was given a specific color that we are asking them to wear on Friday,
preferably if you have a plain t-shirt of that color that would be great but
if not that is perfectly fine as well. I have made props for each student that
will be their “wrapper” (a paper necklace/sign) and the “point” (a party hat)
of their color.

A letter went home today in folders telling you which color your child has
been given. Please make sure they wear this color on Friday morning and
brings in $1 donation for the TAG Day. I cannot wait to see our box of
crayons come together! :)

2) This Friday evening is our Spring Music Concert. All students are asked
to arrive to school at 6:45 pm wearing their “Sunday Best”, please note it
does get warm in the gym and on stage. We will be meeting and dismissing in
the 2nd grade classroom, similar to what we did during our Christmas Concert.
The concert begins at 7:00 pm and families are of course invited and
encouraged to attend.

3) Our spelling test is this Friday, focusing on the “ee” words. Please submit
completed homework assignments.

4) Our very last READO board & reading homework went home on Monday.
These are due back on Monday June 3rd.
