Week of February 26th

Good Afternoon Everyone!

I hope you had a nice weekend. I cannot believe the end of

February is here already, although I am grateful we have one extra day this year! We have a lot of exciting things coming up in the next month of school! Please review below for some important information:

1) We have already started planning our upcoming spring field

trip- which is a special family trip with our Pre-K3 & Pre-K4 classes.

2) Our Kindergarten Easter Celebration & Egg Hunt will be held on

Tuesday, March 26th in the afternoon. Please see the flyer in your

child’s homework folder for more information and if you are

3) We will be celebrating Dr. Seuss next week with a fun week where

each day is themed to a different Seuss story. A flyer will be coming

tomorrow to discuss our fun days and what students should

bring/wear each day. 

4) Next Wednesday (March 6th) we will also be having an author visit

with grades K-3rd. A flyer is coming home today if you are interested

in purchasing a book for the author to sign while he is here visiting us. 

5) A reminder that snack shop is open tomorrow during lunch and

pizza money is due no later than Thursday.

Week of February 20th

 

Good Afternoon Everyone,

I hope you all had a nice long weekend.

I am SO proud of our amazing class for doing such an

incredible job on the Wedding of Q & U-

it was hands down one of the best ones ever! 🙂

Here is some info about our week ahead:

1) Pizza money is due Thursday. 

2) This Friday is TAG day- there is no specific theme as it is a

free choice. Please send in the $1 donation Friday morning if your

child dresses down (unless you already paid for the year in advance). 

3) Homework packets are coming home today with our new spelling

words- short I this week. Our spelling test will be Friday! Next week

we will resume learning new sight words in addition to spelling as well. 

4) Scholastic book order catalogs are also coming home today.

If you are interested in ordering, please place orders online no

later than Friday, March 8th.

Week of February 12th, 2024

 

Good Afternoon!
I hope you all had a nice weekend. We have a very busy and special

week ahead. Please read the following carefully & let me know if you

have any questions as well. 🙂

1) Our Secret Valentines projects should be returned by Wednesday

please, if you have not done so already. Please send in your other

Valentine’s for our celebration on Thursday morning. 

2) We will be attending Ash Wednesday mass at 8:45 am. 

3) This Friday is our BIG Wedding!! Please send your child to school

dressed up “fancy” in their formal attire as if attending a real

wedding (which technically this is a very real wedding for our

special letters of course!) Please ensure your child can safely

walk/play in their shoes though. 

The doors will open for our ceremony promptly at 12:50 pm

in the big school, where you will sign in and then enter the gym

to find your seats. Please make sure to park in the church

and/or learning center parking lots only, as not to block the car

rider line. 

Older STS siblings will be called down to the gym for the

ceremony promptly at 1:00 pm and then will be sent back to their

classes after its conclusion (around 1:15 pm). Families are then

invited to join us back in our Kindergarten classroom for a great

reception complete with refreshments and fun!

4) Pizza money is due by Thursday.

5) We will have a spelling test Friday morning on the short vowel “e”

words that are coming home today. I am so proud of our class for doing a great job last week. 😀

Good Afternoon Everyone, 

I hope you all had a nice weekend. We have a very busy week

ahead of us with many exciting events coming up. Please read

the following information carefully and as always, reach out if

you have any questions. 🙂

1) Our 100th Day of Kindergarten is coming up quickly

this Friday! 100th Day Projects are asked to please be sent

to school with your child on Friday morning. 

2) Our “Secret Valentine Project” is coming home today in

folders. These are due back by 2/14. Please have your child

take their time to design & write something kind about the

student they received. 

3) Our BIG Wedding of Q & U is coming up next Friday, 2/16.

We could greatly use any assistance possible in making this a

truly magical and memorable event for all our amazing students.

4) Today we started our very first SPELLING UNIT! Our class

was SO excited to learn our 6 spelling words and to hear that

starting this Friday we will take weekly spelling tests. Our words

will focus on a specific phonemic skill each week, starting with short

vowels & word families and it will progressively get more challenging

as we progress throughout the year. 

You will see a spelling word list & practice sheet included with our

weekly homework packet and new monthly READO board & log.

Weekly homework is due back on Friday. Spelling tests will also

come home on Fridays to be signed and returned. 

Spanish homework was sent home today that is not due back until

next Monday. 

5) Pizza money is due Thursday. Also, in case you didn't see Mr.

Dunnigan’s blog over the weekend, our amazing school sent in over

100 bags for Roxbury Social Services and as a reward we will now

have a TWO HOUR DELAY on Super Bowl Monday

(next Monday 2/12). Go 49ers (Mr. T’s favorite team!)! 🙂

6) Last but certainly not least, I am SUPER excited to announce

that registration for our 2024 Summer Camp is officially open!!

Ms. Hopkins will be putting information on the STS Parent Page
