Week of 2/27

 



Good Afternoon & Happy Monday!
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Thank you again for joining us for

our incredible Wedding of Q & U on Friday. I am truly SO proud of our class

for doing such a great job and so thankful for all the help and support from

families to make it such a memorable day. 


It is hard to believe that February is already almost over and we are moving

into March already! We have many more exciting events to look forward to. :) 


 Please read below for some important info about the week/month ahead:

1) Our “Lucky Family Shamrock” project is being sent home today in

homework folders. Please help your child decorate this shamrock with

pictures/drawings, words, and decor about your family and return it to

school by Monday, March 6th. Please see below for my family shamrock as

an example- it can be cut & pasted onto a bigger piece of paper if that is

easier to decorate, similarly to what I did as well. I cannot wait to see &

share all these amazing shamrocks on display in our hallway next week. :) 

2) Reading folders went home today with our new spelling words (short e

this week- test Friday) and practice sheets for popcorn words & addition

as well. Completed weekly homework is due by Friday, but our February

Monthly work (READO board & log) is not due back until next Monday,

March 6th. 


3) Snack Shop will be held tomorrow during lunch and pizza money

(labeled) is due by Thursday please. 


4) Next week we are celebrating Read Across America week and we will be

having an author visit us! Forms went home last week if you are interested

in purchasing her book. The Book Fair will also take place next week

from March 8th-10th, more info to come as we get closer. 


Our class will also be doing special Kindergarten only themed days

next week to celebrate Dr. Seuss. A detailed flyer will be sent

home on Wednesday with all information about each special day :). 


5) After school club information for spring clubs are going home

today if you are interested in signing your child up for any clubs-

there are two that Kindergarten is eligible for- Lego Club & Art Club.

All club registration is due no later than this Friday, March 3rd. 


6) Clover Gram order forms are also going home today, if you are

interested in surprising your child with a clovergram please return

the form & payment no later than March 13th. 


7) Our annual Baked Potato Lunch will take place on Thursday, March 16th.

Order forms went home last week if you are interested in ordering one

for your child. 


8) We will be going on a spring field trip with our Pre-K3 & Pre-K4 classes

in Late April/Early May. Details are being confirmed & finalized and

as soon as they are ready we will let everyone know right away. :) 


9) Please SAVE THE DATE for our Easter Family Picnic & Egg Hunt on

Tuesday, April 4th at 11:30 am (rain date of Wednesday, April 5th).

More details to come as we get closer but all families are invited to join us

for a picnic lunch together followed by our class egg hunt & Easter party.  


10) St. Judes Math-a-thon books are due by Friday, March 10th. Our class

can win a NUT card (no uniform day) if EVERY student completes the

workbook & earns a minimum of $50 in donations per student. Please see the

STS website for more information.

Week of 2/21- Wedding Week! :)

 


Good Afternoon!

I hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend. We have a VERY

exciting week ahead. :) 


Please read below for important information about our busy, fun, short

week! 

1) A detailed letter went home about our upcoming Wedding of Q & U.

Please read it carefully and let me know if you have any questions. I am

SO excited to finally have you all join us for this special occasion on Friday morning. Doors open for seating in the gym at 8:45 am, ceremony begins promptly at 9:00.


2) Since it is a shortened week, and with the Wedding on Friday,

we will still be having spelling but it will be our SPECIAL sight words

from last month. We will also be taking the test on Thursday.

The words are stapled to the weekly homework packet but will be

God, love, Jesus, mom, dad. Homework is not due back until next

Monday but please still have students practice these words for the test. 


3) Pizza money is due by Thursday, please ensure it is labeled.

Week of Feb. 13th :)

 


Good Afternoon!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful start to this beautiful week.

We have a lot of exciting events coming up this week & next, please see

below for important information. 


1) Tomorrow we will be celebrating Valentine’s Day with a small class party

(our big celebration will be next Friday with the Wedding of Q & U). 


Students must bring in their secret valentine’s project that was sent

home last Monday tomorrow. They may also bring their own valentines to

distribute amongst friends (we have 26 students in total). As per school

policy, all valentine goodies must be NON-food. 


2) Tomorrow is also a TAG day, the theme is Valentine’s (red, white, pink).

Please send in the $1 tag donation LABELED TAG DAY in folders tomorrow

if your child is dressing down. 


3) Today we have officially started our first SPELLING unit! We are VERY

excited! Attached to our weekly homework you will see the list of our 5

spelling words, along with the practice sheet to complete this week. Each

week will focus on a similar sound/vowel pattern, and it will increasingly get

more challenging as we progress. We will take our first spelling test on

Friday and it will be sent home to be signed & returned as well. 


4) A letter went home last week regarding the Protecting God’s Children

Safe Touch lesson (age appropriate lesson, stranger danger, etc.) that will

be conducted next week. If you would like to opt-out your child from this

lesson, please return the completed form no later than this

Thursday, 2/16. 


5) There is snack shop tomorrow at lunch, pizza money (labeled please!) is

due by Thursday.

Week of Feb. 6th

 




Good afternoon everyone!

We had a truly fantastic day celebrating our 100th day of Kindergarten, I cannot believe we have less than 80 school days left together. :( I really hope it slows down! I am having so much fun with these amazing students.


We have a very busy & exciting week ahead, please read below for important information:


1) Our top secret & special “Secret Valentines” project went home in

homework folders with a detailed letter and the heart attached behind.

Please have your child take time decorating the valentine, including one kind

sentence they have written about that friend (& cutting out of the original

paper please) over the next few days and return them to school by next

Tuesday, Feb. 14th. :) 


2) Homework folders went home today with our new weekly AND monthly

work. Weekly work may be returned on Monday (since this Friday we have

the Wedding!) 


3) School snack shop will be open for lunch tomorrow. Pizza money is due by

Thursday, please ensure it is labeled in your child’s folder if they will be

ordering pizza. 


4) A detailed reminder letter about our Wedding of Q & U will be going

home tomorrow with all the information about attire, timing, etc. :) I am

SO excited for you all to see this special class performance and to

celebrate as well.
