Kindergarten: Week of May 17th

Good Afternoon & Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. I am very excited for this week

ahead, we have a busy week full of Final Countdown Fun for letters D-H and

my birthday celebration on Thursday!

Here is some information/reminders for the week ahead:

We are now in spring uniforms, and the weather this week looks like it will be getting very warm. Please ensure students wear their shorts/skorts, short sleeves shirts, and have at least one water bottle. We can refill water as needed throughout the day. If you’d like them to have a hat to wear while outside at recess, you may pack that in their backpack as well.

Our “Marvelous Surprise” Day is coming up next Friday, May 28th. Thank you to all who have sent their $10 donation to help us with this amazing event. If you have not sent it in yet, please send it in this week if possible. Also, we are looking for a few more parent volunteers to help the day of, as well as preparing for some of the events. Please see the SignUpGenius below if you are interested in helping.

-Field Day is coming up and students will be preparing. Please see this

message from Mrs. DiGuilio regarding what students are asked to

bring in by next week. “Students will need a white cotton shirt to tie

dye, please bring in a zip lock bag with several rubber bands. Please

LABEL the bag, the tag of the shirt, and the hem of the shirt as well.

This is due by May 26th.”

-Homework folders and reading folders went home with this week’s

work. Homework is due back this Friday, we will take our spelling test

on the new “EE” pattern words on Friday as well.

1) LA/Reading/Phonics:

-Spelling Word Patterns- Digraph “ee” Words (test Friday)

-Sight Words: get, into, saw, say, new

-Reading Comprehension Skill- Setting & Plot

-LA: nouns & verbs

-Reading/Phonics Skills- Sounding out words, comprehension

-Spring Science

5) Social Studies:

-Passports & Traveling Around World

-Conclusion of the World Unit- Oceans & Continents
