Week of October 3rd

Hello Everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We are having an awesome start to

a new and exciting month of school. Now that we are in October, we have

A LOT of new information to share and many exciting events coming up as

well. :)

1) A letter is going home in Homework Folders today detailing our “Reading

Folders” and the work that is inside of them. Please keep these Reading

Folders at home and work on them throughout the week, and return at the

end of each week.

Since there is no school this Friday, students do not have to return their

folders until next Tuesday, October 11th.

If you haven’t returned the September Reading log with the apples, please

do so by the end of this week for a prize.

Our weekly homework checklist with important info can be found there as

well. You may pick and choose which practice activities you’d like to do and it

is not required that they ALL be done every single day, we just like to

give the children a chance to choose what they’d like to do.

2) Raz Kid letters & login information is going home in homework folders as

well. Your child’s login will also be taped on the front of their homework

folder as well. When you first log in to the app or on the computer, your

child will be prompted to take a Placement Test first. This will help

determine which leveled readers they will be given on Raz Kids. Please let

me know if you have any questions.

3) Today we started learning about our sight words, which we call “Popcorn

Words” in Kindergarten because they POP out whenever we see them. Our

first five words can be found in Reading Folders so they can practice at

home as well.

4) Our St. Therese Walk-a-Thon will now be held on Thursday morning

beginning at 9:00 am. Any money raised, please send it to school no later

than tomorrow.

5) A reminder that school is closed this Friday, October 7th and Monday,

October 10th.

6) Beginning next week, the school snack shop will now be open on Tuesdays

during lunch, instead of Fridays. There will be no snack shop this week due

to 8th grade visiting Pope John.
