Week of November 21st

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I cannot believe we are already about to celebrate Thanksgiving, I feel like November just started! I wanted to send our weekly update earlier this week, due to the shortened schedule but it is still an important week ahead. :)

1) This week we will be dismissed at 12:00, with aftercare available on Monday & Tuesday and no aftercare Wednesday. Students are asked to still pack a hearty snack & their water bottle. Any students who are staying for aftercare should also bring a lunch and ADDITIONAL snacks for the afternoon.

2) There will not be any new weekly homework this week. Students may continue to work on their monthly READO board if they’d like.

3) We are VERY excited for our Thanksgiving celebration on Wednesday. If you have signed up to donate items for our “Friendsgiving Feast”, kindly drop them off directly to our building no later than Tuesday please. :)

4) Our Kindergarten Thanksgiving Play will be on Wednesday morning at 11:15 am. Students will still wear their gym uniform this day, our Turkey costumes will go over their uniform. Families are encouraged & invited to attend to watch the play in the gym, siblings are also permitted to join as well. Please do not arrive earlier than 11:00 am, as the gym is being used until that time. Students may be signed out and leave directly after our play is over, which is estimated to be approximately 30 minutes long. I will send a link with the recorded video & slideshow to all families Wednesday afternoon. :)

5) Breakfast with Santa registration is due back by Monday 11/28 if you are interested in attending that event on December 3rd.

6) Our school Christmas Breakfast permission slips went home last week and they are now past due. We MUST have a response from ALL students in regards to this special event, so please kindly return the form ASAP.

7) Santa Shop order forms & payments are due no later than November 30th. We MUST have a response from ALL students, even if your child will not be shopping, so we ask if you can please kindly return the form by the deadline. Thank you!

8) Scholastic Book orders are due no later than Monday, November 28th. If you are interested in ordering, please place your order online using our class code P8VPV (https://orders.scholastic.com/P8VPV) Our class earns points for every order placed that helps us expand the classroom library as well. :)

9) Our next 8th grade project graduation TAG Day will now be held on Tuesday, November 29th. The theme will be “Sports Day”.

10) Lastly, now that the weather is changing and it can be VERY cold, please ensure your child wears appropriate layers and has a winter jacket (hats, gloves, scarves suggested on very cold days). We always go outside daily as long as it is above 32 degrees and not raining. Please make sure ALL pieces are LABELED! :)
