Week of 10/31

Good Afternoon!

Happy November & All Saints Day!

This morning we started off our new month by attending mass for All Saints Day.

This entire month we will be honoring and learning about many saints, with a

special “Saint of the Day” and reminding one another how we can all live our lives

by following their example. :)

Here is some information regarding the week ahead:

1) Winter Uniforms have now begun! Please ensure your child is dressed in their

appropriate winter uniform and please, please, please LABEL all articles of

clothing they may remove, such as sweaters, jackets, etc. Please see the school

website if you are unsure of what this uniform entails.

2) Today our “Disguise a Turkey” project came home in homework folders.

This is one of our favorite projects to share & display during the month of

November. Please help your child decorate a disguise for their turkey using any

items they would like, and return it to school next Monday, November 7th.

There are a plethora of ideas online if your child needs a bit of motivation,

however knowing how creative they are already I cannot wait to see what they

come up with! :)

3) Reading folders went home today with this week’s packet and the

November monthly packet. We are still going through October’s work

and will send them home with their prizes by the end of this week.

4) The Box of Joy outreach project is due by next Thursday,

November 10th.

5) Next Thursday, November 10th we will be having a special “Veterans Day

Awareness Day” where we will dress down in Red, white & blue. We will be

collecting $1 donations from students who dress down and will be using that $ to

send Christmas Care Packages to Mr. Popowicz (a STS parent) & his unit who are

currently deployed in Iraq.

6) Our Kindergarten class will soon be preparing for our first performance-

a play about “The First Thanksgiving- Thank You God for our Friends!”. As of

now the tentative date is Friday, November 18th (in the afternoon) but

more details to come by the end of this week as we secure the time & date.

7) During the week of November 21st we will be having half days with noon

dismissal due to conferences for grades 1-8 (there will be after care available

on Monday 11/21 & Tuesday 11/21 for all students if needed- there is NO

aftercare on Wednesday 11/23 for the entire school).

Please note, as mentioned at Back to School Night, our Kindergarten

conferences will be held in January upon the completion of the second
