Week of 11/07

Good Afternoon!
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. We have a ver

busy, yet short, week ahead full of lots of learning fun.

Please see below for important info:

1) Today our new weekly homework went home. This week you

will see a new activity- labeled Sight Word Tic-Tac-Toe and a

coordinating white sheet labeled “Sight Word Tic Tac Toe Practice”

that has four boxes Monday-Thursday. Students are asked to pick

an activity of their choosing from the tic tac toe board once per day

and write them in that style on the coordinating white sheet. So for example- if your child selects “write your words in CAPITAL letters”

today, they would use the word list provided (sight words unit #4- also

attached) and write inside the “Monday” box all 5 of their words using all

capital letters. They are asked to do this 3 out of the 4 days this week,

but if you’d like to have them do it all 4 times that would be great as well.

The homework packet is not due back until Monday, due to the shortened

week.

2) There is Lego Club tomorrow after school. If you have signed up your

child for this club and they will be attending, please send me a DOJO or a

note by tomorrow morning so I can mark dismissal accordingly. Notes MUST

be given in order for students to attend.

3) School snack shop will take place tomorrow during lunch if you’d like to

send in $ for your child to purchase.

4)  Box of Joy service projects are due back no later than this Thursday,

November 10th.

5) On Thursday we will be having a special Veteran’s Day dress down day.

We are asking students to please wear Red, White & Blue and each $1

donation collected will be sent to assist Mr. Popowicz (a STS parent) &

his unit currently serving in Iraq.

6) Our Thanksgiving celebration will be taking place on Wednesday,

November 23rd. Our class will be putting on a special play performance for

all families at 11:15 am. I will also be recording a dress rehearsal on Friday,

November 18th that I will share with everyone during break so in case

anyone is traveling during the week of Thanksgiving, your child can still

participate in the show. :) If you are interested in assisting us with

donations, please see the Sign Up Genius link below. Thank you for your

support!

Monday 11/21 & Tuesday 11/21 for all students if needed- there is NO aftercare
